Nick Bye’s vision focuses on Crossways shopping centre in Paignton

Torbay Council is looking into buying the Crossways shopping centre in Paignton.

The site went into receivership last month, and currently just eight units out of the 33 available are occupied.

Mayor Nick Bye is looking into raising the funds through a council or joint purchase with other public sector money, although he was cagey on the details.

Town traders have reacted positively to the moves.
