Deli Shack Food Heroes – Ticklemore Cheese, Devon
Devon Blue, made by Ticklemore Cheese at their farm on the banks of the river Dart is one of the great cheeses produced in the West Country.
What really stands out to me is the way that the slightly crumbly texture gives way to the most glorious creamy flavour as it melts in your mouth. Devon Blue isn’t the strongest blue cheese made in these parts, but if you like a little sweetness with just a bit of a bite on the finish, this one’s for you.
This lovely little farm also produces two other excellent blues, more of which to come later, called Harbourne Blue made from goats milk and Beenleigh Blue, made from sheeps milk.
Twenty years of Devon know how and a wealth of local ingredients make’s Ticklemore Cheeses one of the finest examples of artisan cheese making that I’ve come across.
