Free lantern making workshop in Teignmouth
A free workshop making lanterns – to be used in the parade before the Teignmouth Christmas lights turning-on ceremony – is taking place on Wednesday, October 26, between 10am and 4pm. Another one is taking place on Sunday November 6.
Teignmouth’s Christmas lights are being turned on at 4:30pm on Friday November 18.
TAAG are supporting the event and the Teignmouth Traders who have organised the lights by holding an illuminated lantern parade before the switch on.
We have local schoolchildren taking part but would like you and anyone you know to join in with the fun and make the parade even bigger.
The first workshop starts at 10am and continues until 4pm – all materials are supplied but you are welcome to bring any bits and pieces you want to decorate your lantern.
Just turn up at TAAG Arts and Community Centre, Northumblerland Place, Teignmouth, and join in, make your lantern and walk with it in the parade – you can even keep the lantern after.
