Torquay’s Living Coasts closes due to bad weather
Living Coasts, Torquay’s coastal zoo, is closed today (Monday, April 30) because of the weather.
The coastal conservation charity is on the edge of the Bay near Haldon Pier and huge waves are making parts of the site unsafe for visitors.
Living Coasts director Elaine Hayes said: “Right now it is not safe for visitors to come to Living Coasts as waves are washing over the terrace.
“All the animals are safe. We are keeping a close eye on the net, though it is designed to withstand storms such as this.
“We hope to be open as usual again tomorrow.”
