Priorities for the future of children’s hospices backed
MP for North Devon Nick Harvey recently met Eddie Farwell, co-founder of local children’s hospice Little Bridge House, to discuss the future of children’s palliative care.
At a Parliamentary reception hosted by the children’s charity Together for Short Lives, Nick heard from families and hospice workers about the steps needed to help improve care and support for children with life limiting conditions.
Nick said: “I am a big supporter of our local children’s hospice, Little Bridge House in Fremington. I know that all the staff and volunteers work hard to make it like a home from home for the children who stay there and their families.
“Together for Short Lives have developed some clear priorities for the future which need to be taken into account. It’s vital that children with life limiting conditions receive the very best care, so I’m committed to ensuring these services in North Devon are fairly funded and are centred on their needs.”
