Argh! It’s Treasure Island at the Exeter Phoenix
Put your ideas of Treasure Island aside for your moment, because Quirk Theatre taken Robert Louis Stevenson’s idea and run with it… all the way to 1953.
Jim Hawkins becomes Jess, and she and her gang dream of the treasure of humbugs, gobstoppers and pineapple chunks (it’s 1953 remember – there’s rationing!).
The Quirks, as we like to call them (that’s Quirk Theatre to you), are well know for being ‘innovative, imaginative and incredibly inventive’, and we’re told they have put together a fabulous show full magic and wonder. And if last year’s The Emperor’s Perfume is anything to go by, this should be much fun.
There are workshops with Lush to make bath bombs attached to some performances, and to find out which, as well as the times and other extras, pop along to the Treasure Island page on the Exeter Phoenix site.
Quirk Theatre’s Treasure Island is at the Exeter Phoenix from Wednesday, December 4 2013 to Saturday, January 4, 2014.
