Exeter Chiefs give Barnstaple U16s expert coaching tips
Barnstaple’s U16 Rugby Team received expert coaching tips from two Exeter Chiefs players giving them momentum to push on to achieve further success.
The Barnstaple branch of RGB Building Supplies arranged for their sponsored players, Damian Welch and Will Chudley, to work with the young players to improve all aspects of their game.
Damian and Will ran through set pieces with Barnstaple’s U16 team, who are currently sitting at the top of the Fisherman’s League North and fourth in the Fisherman’s League Cup, giving each player advice on how to improve their game and ensuring they work as a team.
Martin Southworth, head coach of Barnstaple U16s Rugby team, was delighted that the team were able to benefit from the coaching session
Martin said: “The whole team thoroughly enjoyed the training session with Will Chudley and Damian Welch and I know that they will take the tips they learnt into our next game.
“A big thank you to RGB Building Supplies and the Exeter Chiefs for giving our team the opportunity to train with some of the best players in the country.”
Lee Kift, branch manager at RGB Barnstaple, said: “We have long been a sponsor of both the Exeter Chiefs and Barnstaple Rugby Club, so we were more than happy to arrange for the training session to take place. We’re delighted that the boys learnt so much and we wish them and the Exeter Chiefs all the best for the remainder of the season.”
