Older people to step out for Dance in Time celebration
The Dartington Hall Trust and Sanctuary Group partner with Dance in Devon to mark International Day of Older Persons.
Through their Abundant Life community living scheme, The Dartington Hall Trust and Sanctuary Group are joining forces with Dance in Devon on 1 October to offer a dance and music extravaganza to mark International Day of Older Persons.
‘Dance in Time’ follows in the footsteps of last year’s success on the Dartington estate and will combine dance and music workshops, dance performances and films in an enthusiastic celebration of ‘living well in older age’. This concept is at the heart of the Abundant Life scheme being planned jointly on The Dartington Hall estate by Dartington and Sanctuary Group to create an exciting, supportive community scheme for all, with modern, well-designed apartments for people aged 55 and over.
A spokesperson on behalf of the organisations said: ‘The event is about having fun, staying fit and feeling fabulous. And why not… it’s really important to recognise the role and value of older people in today’s society and the need to maintain a good level of health and wellbeing in later years.’
Dance in Time will take place at the Space studios on the Dartington Hall Estate (Lower Drive), Totnes on Thursday 1 October (10.30am – 4.45pm). Tickets cost £10 for the day, including lunch, and live music comes from the jazz band Yesterday’s Men. Places are limited, so early booking is essential – call Dance in Devon on 01803 868116 or book via www.danceindevon.org.uk
