Torrington showed its Cavalier attitude to history as the 463rd anniversary of the English Civil Ware Battle of Torrington took place.
To commemorate the battle, historical re-enactment groups of Cavailers, Roundheads and their respective entourages marched through the town in a torchlit procession to lay a wreath on the mass grave which is thought to contain the bodies of Parliamentarian prisoners held in the church and killed when it was blown up by attacking forces.
