Calls to put up a parking lot on Dartmouth’s Coronation Park to attract shoppers back into town are being made by a councillor.
Francis Hawke, who is a representative at town and district level, told a meeting of the town council ‘that turning part of the town’s only play park into a car park for more than 200 cars could help bring people back into the town centre’.
The argument is that supermarkets have drawn shoppers out of the town centre.
It was part of the town council’s debate about transport and parking in the town.
