Two Devon hospices have been affected by the downturn in the economy.
The St Luke’s Hospice in Plymouth is to lose five jobs as it faces a gap of £500,000 in its fundraising. The hospice costs £5 million a year to run.
Meanwhile, Rowcroft Hospice, which has already cut back its day care service as it too faced a £500,000 shortfall, has stopped its plans for an new £8 million building.
The Torquay charity now will focus on redeveloping existing facilities.
