Devon’s success at keeping 15 Post Offices open during the recent closures will be the subject of a House of Commons Select Committee fact finding mission.
Devon County Council stepped in to save some Post Offices, and offered them a grant as well as business advice on life after support from Post Office Limited. The Business and Enterprise Committee are looking into how Post Offices can secure their future in the community while being commercially viable.
Councillor Gordon Hook, Devon County Council’s Champion for Post Offices said: “This is a unique opportunity to let MPs know our views about the post office network and to share ideas for how it can be sustained in the long term.”
