Dog mess is a big issues in Torbay, and the summonse which resulted in a £150 fine for an owner who refused to pick up after his pet should send warning signals throughout the Bay that the council is getting tough.
Torbay Council community councillor Dave Butt, commenting after the hearing to the Torquay-based Herald Express, said: “While we recognise that the majority of dog owners across the Bay are responsible and pick up after their pets, today’s ruling sends out a clear message to the small minority who don’t that they must face the consequences.”
