Schools with falling pregnancy rates for their pupils are being penalised by having their funding withdrawn.
Devon Primary Care Trust has cancelled the Added Power and Understanding in Sex Education (APAUSE) scheme at secondaries where fewer girls fall pregnant, leaving schools like The King’s School, in Ottery St Mary, needing to find nearly £4,000 to keep the specialist sex education programme running.
