Torquay-based volunteer of Cornish charity Shelterbox Nicola Jones has returned from the Italian village of Assergi, where she helped distribute tent in the aftermath of an earthquake on Tuesday, April 7.
Nicola told the Herald Express: “They have done all they can to maintain a semblance of normal life. They had an Easter Sunday celebration, got together and cooked some food.
“I think some families will be in tents for about six months, then in wooden chalets before their homes are repaired or rebuilt.”
