Centuries old milling techniques are being bought back to life next month by the Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT). The charity is running a Milling Day at Cricklepit Mill, Exeter to coincide with Heritage Open Days on Saturday, September 12. (From a press release)
The Milling day is taking place between pm until 5pm. The restored C19th waterwheels will be turning and there will be tours of the mill including areas not usually open to the public. Volunteer millers will also be on hand to speak to visitors about the milling process and the process of using locally sourced organic wheat to make flour in a traditional way.
Booking on the tours is essential. To book a place call DWT on 01392 279244. For more information about DWT and Cricklepit Mill visit www.devonwildlifetrust.org
