Communities in Teignbridge have a chance to wining part of a £2,500 fund for tree planting and maintenance as part of a new Yellow Pages recycling challenge devised by Teignbridge Council. (From a press release)
In any area in Teignbridge where there is a volunteer Tree Warden working, people are being encouraged to tear off and save front covers from old directories when they recycle their old Yellow Pages directories in their household black boxes.
Local Tree Wardens will be collecting saved covers from collection points in local shops and community facilities. The community that collects the most will win £2,000 to plant new trees and maintain them. Two runners-up will also receive £250, bringing the prize fund up to £2,500.
