Work on a new Tesco supermarket in Seaton could be stopped as the town council wants a public enquiry into the supermarket’s planning application. East Devon District Council approved the Tesco plan, despite public opinion being against it.
At an extraordinary meeting of Seaton Town Council, it was decided that legal action would be sought to stop the supermarket and as the council looked for independent scrutiny by a government appointed inspector.
