The charity Book Cycle bookshop in Exeter, where customers are asked to make donations for books rather than pay for them, has suffered a spate of thefts.
A man who took a laptop and £80 from the till was caught by police and confessed, and a second thief made off with £100 from the till.
The shop is run entirely by volunteers.
