The £120 million Kingskerswell dual carriageway bypass resumed its public inquiry at the Passage House Hotel, Kingsteignton, on Tuesday, October 27, with objectors claiming the plans would devastate the tranquility and the flora, fauna and wildlife of the Kerswell Downs.
According to the plans, more than double the area of land which is used for the bypass would be made available.
But for Kingskerswell Alliance, Caroline Allen, QC, said there was no evidence that the grassland area of the exchange land would support an equivalent ecosystem, even when the woodland is established.
