A couple who believe their ‘special’ cat was stolen by hippies heading for Stonehenge during the solstice have visited Totnes in the hope that their kitty, Potter, was enjoying the famous ‘alternative’ lifestyle.
Caroline Hole Jones and her husband Paul from Stourton, near Warminster, Wiltshire, have travelled the West Country in search for their hippy kitty.
Caroline said: ‘I had high hopes at Wincanton where a beautiful cat had been taken in by some Czech lads living in a wooden shack. Sadly it was not Potter but we managed to re-home him through the Cats’ Protection League.
“The most amusing sighting was near Blandford where, after stalking the area for three days, I found “Fred”. A kindly soul had shut him in their kitchen to hold him for me but he was claimed by an indignant neighbour.
