More trees are to go around Exeter Cathedral, although they are to be replaced.
Two whitebeam trees, next to a horse chestnut near to the Hooker statue on Cathedral Green, are under threat as the cathedral has applied for planning permission to remove them. An oak and a tulip tree will be planted instead.
It’s part of the cathedral’s proposed revamp of the Cathedral green, which will see trees replaced in the area and the Hooker statue and the County War Memorial moved.
