Exeter’s CCTV cuts have been put on hold to assess the impact of the proposed changes which would save £51,000 a year.
Exeter City Council community scrutiny committee had been asked to reduce the number of controllers of the camera system to the equivalent of 2.2 full-time posts for the saving. The committee deferred the decision because of fears that a reduction in staff could affect the number of crimes reported.
