Plymouth University is part of a CyberMentor programme, run by children’s charity Beatbullying, the first online peer mentoring social network.
Volunteers from the university act as online mentors – through messages on the CyberMentor website, or online chat – to young people who want to discuss problems about bullying. There are also counsellors available to help with very serious issues.
Aleshia Sampson, the university’s student union president told thisisplymouth the first training session had attracted 53 students.
