Totnes MP Anthony Steen, who is standing down at the next General Election, failed in his bid to save himself from paying back expenses.
On top of the £5,946.93 he’d already paid back he was ordered to repay a further £5,264.82 of garden expenses, which he appealed. Anthony argued that his garden was for the benefit of his constituents.
Now he will have paid back more than £11,000 of the £88,000 expenses he claimed, which included expenses for tree surgery and protecting his shrubs from rabbits.
