Five Devon County Councillors who represent the Exeter area have committed £1,000 from their county committee budgets to fund the youngsters from Exeter City Swimming Club who have reached the 10th National Arena Swim League finals, which take place at Ponds Forge in Sheffield on Sunday, April 25.
Over 500 clubs nationally compete to get to the finals, and each club goes through three gruelling rounds, before finally being selected to compete against other top clubs in the country. Exeter will compete against eight other clubs, including Cardiff, Derby and Ealing.
Former Exeter City swimmer and World Champion Liam Tancock will be swimming for his old club, as well as supporting his 43 fellow athletes.
