Teignbridge District Council and Devon and Cornwall Police are asking the community to help ‘Name That Tag’ in a bid to end a recent spate of graffiti in Teignmouth and Bishopsteignton.
There has been a spike in levels of graffiti in the area. Posters asking the public to ‘Name That Tag’ are now being distributed in the area in the hopes that the distinctive ‘tags’ – graffiti signatures used by specific people or groups – will be recognised and will lead to the capture of the vandals.
The tags include the words and initials PDC, Veepee, The Rets, and Mash, among others. Anybody with information about the tagging is being encouraged to call Teignbridge District Council’s anti-social behaviour team on 01626 215152 or Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111.
Any information leading to a conviction may even mean a cash reward for the informant, and calls to Crimestoppers can be made completely anonymously if the caller wishes.
