Plymouth’s Families in Ford are set for a programme of events on Plymouth’s military, fishing and food heritage with a £9,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
The project, which begins in September, will include bug hunting, den building and outdoor cooking to growing fresh fruit and veg, and taking to the water to explore Plymouth’s dockyard and warships.
The project will culminate in a celebration supper which will include some of the home grown produce. Certificates will be presented to in recognition of various feats achieved during the project, from holding a spider to growing the biggest vegetable.
