There’s a chance to find out more about the old documents and photos in your loft as Archives from the Attic returns to Plymouth Guildhall on Saturday, June 19.
Experts from Plymouth City Council’s Record Office, the Friends of Devon Archives and the Devon Family History Society will be on hand at the event to chat about any historic documents that people take along and perhaps find out some interesting facts about them.
These might include anything from property deeds, family business records, letters and diaries to maps, plans, accounts, minutes or records of an event.
The Archives from the Attic: Return to the Loft! event will also include readings from a series of diaries held in the record office’s collections as well as information stands from local heritage organisations and family-friendly activities such as quill pen writing for younger visitors to have some fun with.
Admission is free and there is no need to book in advance. For more information go to the Plymouth City Council archives and records page or call 01752 305940.
