Speaker in the House of Commons has been in the Telegraph singing the praises of Woolacombe Bay, Devon.
Before he had kids he was a bit of a jet-setting, but in the Heaven on Earth column, he says: “It’s the perfect traditional seaside holiday. As soon as we arrive and the children see the sea, they’re in heaven. They love splashing in the water and messing about on the beach.”
Other bonuses include ice cream, fish and chips, weather, value for money, and there’s loads to keep the youngsters occupied – plus you don’t have those long-haul flights that take you to those supposedly more exotic places.
