A Community Action Day in Newton Abbot which will see Teignbridge District Council, the Police and the Fire & Rescue Service team up to provide safety information.
During the afternoon of Tuesday, November 30 the agencies will be in the town centre talking to shoppers and offering them advice about how to keep their purchases safe. They will be putting stickers on people’s shopping bags asking them to keep it safe, keep it hidden and help keep crime down.
In the evening the agencies will be visiting 800 homes to offer local people advice about community safety and fire precautions in the home, along with other issues that matter to them. The agencies will then use residents’ feedback to influence their work to improve the quality of life for people in Newton Abbot and beyond.
Representatives from all the agencies will be on hand at 2pm by the Clock Tower in Newton Abbot Town Centre, where there will be two Fire Service Education vehicles and a mobile Police information pod.
