Residents in Newtown have helped to create an exhibition about their community by contributing pieces of writing, art, poems and photographs.
The exhibition, which looks at the themes of Home, Standing on my Doorstep and My Favourite Place is being organised by Rosie Kelly, Newtown’s area liaison officer at Exeter City Council.
In preparation, writing workshops were held at St Sidwells Centre and Newtown Primary School. Over 50 local people have contributed pieces of work that will be on display.
The exhibition will be launched at St Sidwells Centre on Tuesday, December 7 from 5.30pm to 7pm, and will be on display at the Centre from December 7 to 17 . The exhibition will also feature at Belmont Hut, Belmont Park at the Winter Warmer mince pie and mulled wine celebration on December 19 from 6pm to 9pm.
See the Exeter City Council My Neighbourhood page or contact Rosie on 01392 265729.
The project is part of Exeter City Council’s My Neighbourhood PACT work that has worked in communities across the city this year.
