The SWITCH project from East Devon District Council, together with Exmouth Children’s Centre, has launched its Parent and Toddler Group at Clayton House in Littleham, Exmouth.
It was set up with young parents and step-parents in mind, although parents of all ages are welcome and their involvement is much appreciated. The group will be provided with support and advice on parenting issues and information on the latest jobs and housing.
Anyone attending the sessions will be able find out how to become a SWITCH volunteer and can receive training in first aid and play activities, gaining certificates and references to help toward future training or employment.
The project also plans to run free courses in healthy cooking, as well as English and Maths. And further help will be on hand, with members of the group being able to use the on-site computers, printers and the internet at no charge.
