The head teacher and staff at Torre CE Primary School have been selected for a top role supporting schools in challenging circumstances.
Nicky Bridgewater head teacher at Torre CE Primary School is one of the latest head teachers to be appointed to the role of National Leader of Education following an announcement that the school support scheme, run by the National College for Leadership of Schools and Children’s Services, will be expanded.
National Leaders of Education use their success as school leaders, along with the staff in their school – designated a National Support School – to provide additional leadership capability in struggling schools or those in transition to federation or academy status. The deployment is tailor-made to suit the needs of each school.
Head teacher Nicky Bridgewater said: “We are all delighted to be awarded this key role in school improvement by the National College. It is the result of the hard work and dedication all of the staff of Torre have put in over the past years and the culmination of three separate outstanding inspections.
“We are looking forward to being able to continue to use our skills in a wider context than our own school, and know this will build on our previous experiences in supporting other schools. Our focus remains, as always, ensuring the best all round quality of education for all children, within and beyond Torre.”
