A Torquay couple has marked their 25th wedding anniversary by planting a rose bush at Paignton Zoo.
Billy and Allison Cutts planted the rose in Paignton Zoo’s botanical gardens as part of the charity’s Valentine’s celebrations.
Billy said: “A number of significant dates fall around this time. We married in 1986, so our 25th wedding anniversary is on February 15. We have two children – Joshua, aged 20, and Sascha, who is 18 on 19th February – and two grand-children – one born just a few days ago on February 11.
“We met in June 1982 while I was a beach attendant at Babbacombe. Allison came down on holiday from Bristol with a friend. She came back the day after we met to buy me a drink. That evening I lost a ring which Allison found and kept in order to entice me to visit her in Bristol!”
They now run a commercial cleaning business in Torquay called Clean Cutts.
