Despite admitting the budget for Lib Dem council was basically sound, the whole of the Conservative contingent of Teignbridge Council abstained from voting for it, according to the People’s Republic of South Devon.
The budget, which sees no rise in the district’s council tax, and maintains the grant to the Citizens Advice Bureaux, was call financially sound by Teignbridge Conservative Leader in the council Jeremy Christophers. He also said it plotted the right course.
Nevertheless, all 17 of the Teignbridge’s Conservative Councillors abstained from the vote on the budget, which was approved with 25 votes for and none against.
