Ella Romanos from Horrabridge near Plymouth has been chosen to become a Philly Local Hero – to represent the South West with her own recipe for Philadelphia cream cheese.
Ella, a games producer and budding chef in her personal time, was one of hundreds of applicants who submitted their own quick and easy recipe featuring Philly as a main ingredient for the chance to star in Philadelphia’s new campaign and share their recipe with the nation.
Ella’s Philly Fish Pie includes both her and her boyfriend’s favourite ingredients but is also quick – something which is particularly important when you have a demanding full time job! She also uses local fish to ensure the flavours are the best that they can be.
Ella is one of 10 Philly local heroes selected from across the country who will be featured on Philadelphia packs, in advertising and on the Facebook page – all from mid March. She also has 223 of her very own posters displayed in and around the area, which will be up until Sunday, March 13.
Ella told the Devon Week: “I’m really excited about being a Philly Hero as I love the idea of other people trying out my Philly Fish Pie and recommending it to their friends. The fact that the method also recommends locally-sourced fish is really important to me and something I’d like to encourage.”
