Devon has been awarded just over £420,000 to develop sustainable transport for local communities. The funding is a share of £10 million announced by Local Transport Minister Norman Baker for 76 rural local authorities across England.
Devon County Council currently supports a number of community transport projects. This includes 16 ring and ride schemes covering more than 90 per cent of Devon’s parishes, Wheels 2 Work, 15 community cars, nine Shopmobility schemes and five community buses.
