Devon County Council’s Adult and Community Learning service in Bideford is encouraging people to become more confident in using the internet when looking for a job.
A special one off session will take place on Friday, March 25 between 1-3pm at the Bideford Arts Centre, and will offer residents the opportunity access careers information and advice and guidance for job hunting, as well as an overview of ways to find and apply for jobs online.
The course is designed for beginners, so previous experience of computers and the internet is not essential. Subjects covered include how to confine internet job searches to give information relevant to you, completing online forms, applying for jobs online, registering for newsletters and accessing online services. Advice will also be available on CV writing and how to use CV builder tools online.
It will also give job hunters the chance to meet others looking for work, build new contacts and share experiences.
The training is being provided free of charge thanks to valuable funding secured by Devon County Council from UK Online.
