Exeter secondary schools are taking over the management of their out of hours’ lettings.
Up to now, the hire of the school’s sports and other facilities has been managed by Carillion Education under the PFI agreement. But from Friday, April 1, the schools’ facility bookings will be co-ordinated by St Luke’s Science and Sports College.
St Luke’s assistant principal Dave Holt said: “We will have systems in place to make booking and using the excellent facilities that much easier.
“We want to make the best possible use of all the facilities to the benefit of the Exeter community in the out of school hours when they might otherwise be lying idle.”
St Luke’s principal Mark Pinchin said the college had a science and sport specialism and it was important to promote their sports facilities on an inclusive basis, and he said he was also keen to enable the local community to make use of other facilties such as the main hall, drama studios and classrooms.
The college will have a dedicated link from its website and a dedicated direct web address. The main school telephone number – 01392 204600 – will be available through the day and calls will be directed as appropriate. The email address will be bookings@st-lukes.devon.sch.uk
