Exeter City Council is laying on extra resources to cope with any confusion over refuse collections following the bank holidays.
Following the Easter weekend and Bank Holiday Monday (25 April), the council will have an extra crew assisting the regular crews in case people put their waste out on the wrong days.
Refuse crews and staff at the council’s materials reclamation facility will also be working on the day of the Royal Wedding (April 29).
The following day, on Saturday, April 30, there will be three extra crews working because it will be the first time Monday collections have had to wait until the following Saturday and the likelihood is that this will generate more waste to collect.
Last week and this week during half term the council has had an extra caged vehicle touring the student areas collecting any waste put out at the wrong time due to the holidays. The council’s cleansing offices will also be open on April 29 to answer any calls.
