Teignbridge’s young sports stars of tomorrow are being encouraged compete for a chance to represent the area in the 2011 Devon Games To Inspire, Devon’s own youth Olympics.
Trials in 10 different sports, including table tennis, gymnastics and tag rugby, are underway and will be held throughout May in various locations around the district.
The trials are open to children aged 8 to 16 years old and are absolutely free to enter, just turn up. Those taking part must either live or go to school in Teignbridge and meet the age criteria for each sport.
The best and brightest young sportspeople will then go on to compete in the Teignbridge Team against other districts from around Devon at the Devon Games To Inspire, held in Exeter on Saturday, June 18. Those chosen for the Teignbridge Team will also receive free T-shirts to commemorate the event and will benefit from free transport to and from the event.
