The Dartington Hall Trust is collaborating with Taste of the West to launch a new, large-scale food fair at its south Devon shopping village between May 28 and 30.
Taking place at The Shops at Dartington, formerly known at the Cider Press Centre, on the edge of the Dartington estate near Totnes, the three-day celebration of locally produced, outstanding food and drink is also supported by Food and Drink Devon and Visit South Devon.
The fair features 45 stalls offering the finest local produce, cooking demonstrations by local chefs in the al fresco kitchen, food tastings, competitions and three different restaurants.
There will also be live music and entertainment and a host of family activities on offer, including a have-a-go potter’s wheel, picnic areas, face painting, a petting zoo, portrait painting – even mountain biking and abseiling sessions.
Riverford Organics’ award-winning celebrity chef Jane Baxter heads up the line-up of local chefs. Jane, who is the head chef at Riverford Organic Field Kitchen, is known for her imaginative approach to cooking locally sourced and seasonal food.
Tickets for the Food Fair cost £4 per day and can be purchased online at the Dartington Food Fair site. On-site parking is included in the ticket price and children under 12 go free, making the event a great value family day out.
