Tiverton-based Randell Burton Architects (a partner with Mid-Devon District Council’s Building Control) has won the Best Technical Development Award at the South West Region LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Annual Awards.
The award recognises the company’s high standards of design, construction and workmanship in respect of a building project in the Tiverton area.
The project had to be raised above the flood plain while still complementing the original thatched cottage. This has been done admirably, providing an open and light living space for the owners.
Building control officer, Robert Nott, said “It was a pleasure to work with our partner and the owners on this project and I am extremely pleased they have won this well deserved award”.
The LABC (Local Authority Building Control) organisation represents 320 local authorities throughout the country, equating to approximately 3,500 building inspectors.
