Devon Wildlife Trust is holding a family event at its Exeter quayside headquarters next month and is inviting local families to take a break from seasonal shopping and pop along.
The event is taking place on Saturday, December 3 and will run from 10.30am until 3.30pm at Cricklepit Mill which is situated close to the city’s Quay.
On the day there will be activities for children including making natural Christmas decorations and bird feeders to give garden birds a festive treat. DWT Christmas cards and calendars will also be available for sale.
Devon Wildlife Trust’s Dan Smith said: “This is the first time we have run a special event to celebrate the festive season at DWT’s headquarters. We are encouraging people to take a break from trawling the shops to have some fun and do something for wildlife at the same time. Children’s activities include storytelling, willow weaving, garden quiz trail, Santa’s grotto and bird-feeder making. There is no booking required, just turn up on the day!“
For more information about the Mill visit www.devonwildlifetrust.org. The visitor area and gardens are also open 9am-5pm weekdays, throughout the year.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The development of the Mill was made possible thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, South West Regional Development Agency, Exeter City Council, Viridor Credits Environmental Company and Exeter Canal & Quay Trust along with a number of other charitable trusts and corporate supporters.
