You would not be forgiven for saying ‘hot stuff’ as the top top curry chefs of Teignbridge and Exeter prepare to ‘cook off’ to find the Exeter and Teignbridge Curry Chef of the Year 2014.
The winners of Teignbridge and Exeter have been announced, and the two are set to come bhaji to bhaji at the Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink South at the end of April to find the overall winner.
Representing Teignbridge is Top Swar, of Gurkha Chef, Newton Abbot.
And for Exeter it’s Bijumon Varghese, of the Curry Leaf, in North Street, Exeter.
Bijumon and Top were among nine of Exeter and Teignbridge’s finest curry chefs battling it out at @34 Restaurant, Exeter College.
This is the second year that Exeter City Council has joined forces with Teignbridge District Council for a combined event.
Contestants had one hour to prepare and serve a curry, a complementary side dish and a bread or rice dish.
