Bistrot Pierre, the independently owned restaurant group is to open a second South West bistrot within the new £12 million landmark development Abbey Sands, on Torquay’s seafront. Bistrot Pierre is looking to recruit up to 60 members of staff in Torquay, which is due to open in mid – late August.
The new bistrot is looking for duty managers, full time bar staff, talented chefs, full time floor staff, kitchen porters and part-time waiting staff. At full capacity the restaurant will run over 200 covers in one night.
The restaurant will have a large bar area downstairs offering customers a more casual dining experience with a new bar-menu being specially created for Torquay. Upstairs the restaurant will feature a Seafood menu with the star of the show dish being the Fruits de Mer.
“The Bistrot Pierre approach to dining is relaxed and welcoming,” said co-founder Rob Beacham.
“Our collection of bistrots deliver affordable French gastronomy using carefully sourced, authentic, ingredients that change with the seasons. Each bistrot is styled a little differently to complement the building it is in but, whilst our look changes between each bistrot, customers must be able to expect the same personal, attentive service and high quality provincial French food wherever they choose to dine with us, so we’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our professional and friendly bistrot teams.”
Last year the company opened a bistrot in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard, which has proved immensely popular with customers. “It gives us a sense of satisfaction to be expanding during tough economic times, but it is the people at the sharp end, working on the restaurant floor, on in the kitchen, that should take the credit. They create the customer experience, that has led to our success” said Rob.
“We look for people who genuinely care about excellent customer service, who’re friendly, enthusiastic and willing to work hard in a busy and exciting environment. Attracting, retaining and nurturing them is incredibly important to us, as a business we’re serious about investing in their future and career development, and I hope we’re going to find a new family here in Torquay.”
