Torbay MP Adrian Sanders has welcomed the news that local business Spirent Communications has been awarded new money from the Government’s Regional Growth Fund (RGF).
Organisations across the South West have been awarded £67m spanning 22 projects and programme, making the grand total of funds for the region £240m between 2011 and 2017.
Overall £2.85 billion has now been invested in local companies and organisations across England, unlocking £1.5 billion of additional private sector investment helping them to safeguard, expand, and take on more staff.
Other businesses in and around Torbay that have benefitted from the Regional Growth Fund since 2010 include fibre optics design manufacturer Gooch and Housego (Torquay).
Commenting on the new funding for Spirent Communications, Adrian Sanders MP said: “The Regional Growth Fund set up by the Lib Dems in Government has been great news for Paignton and great news for the South West. This sort of funding has enabled local business like Spirent to unlock their potential and show what Devon has to offer.”
