The perfect pre-Xmas musical hug: the brilliant Kat Coles (vocals), guitarist Neil Smith (This Is The Kit, Slate Trio, etc), and saxophonist Jake McMurchie (Get The Blessing, Michelson Morley, The Jazz Defenders, etc) – three of Bristol’s finest musicians – have a rapport and melodic intimacy forged through a decade and a half of playing together in this most sparse of combos. Expect old, forgotten jazz classics and bossas delivered with gentleness, sensitivity, and humour. They played the 2024 pre-Xmas slot here and filled the place with seasonal warmth.
