‘Second battle of Hastings’ historic site faces bulldozer
Councillors in Torridge, Devon will vote on plans for a holiday complex on the historic battlefield billed as the “sequel” to the Battle of Hastings. The vote is due on February 1, 2018, at Bideford Town Hall.

Restoration of historic vessel transforming North Devon town
Since being served notice to vacate her berth on the River Severn, the last small potentially sea-going, coastal steamer in the UK, the SS Freshspring, is in dire need of support to avoid her being scrapped. A dedicated team are working on raising funds to ensure the ship can be taken to Bideford, North Devon where there is huge support for her.

RGB Building Supplies has announced that Bideford-based Wings South West is the latest beneficiary of their Well Built Community Fund. The charity will be receiving £1,000 to spend at RGB’s Bideford branch to enhance the carpentry area at their business and training centre in Abbotsham.
